The Olympic Games begin on Friday, 23 July 2021 and take place in Tokyo. Tokyo is the vibrant capital of Japan and, with around 38 million inhabitants, the largest city in the world. The Olympic Games feature 33 sports, and around 11,300 athletes from 206 countries are expected.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, no spectators are admitted to the Olympic Games. Strict entry requirements as well as hygiene and testing rules apply to the athletes throughout the event.
